Yep, you read that right. Yahoo news articles are talking about how people are stating to 'whisper' this word - and that its the only way to stop this downward spiral. But what else can it lead to? I wonder? Could we have seen this coming? Have some of us SAID this was coming? What are your thoughts?

Well, so happy you asked.... "ourthoughts" are this: The media loves to predict the doom and gloom! The "worst case" is so much more exciting then any reasons why somethings may need to change to make our country better. Look at what a bang up job we all have done at digging ourselves into a hole so far? No one wants to be controlled, that is part of what makes America what it is and why it is so great, the land of the free. Something needs to give and if it isn't this, it will be something else. Perhaps we'll just need to decide what the lesser of the two evils is and go from there. Find the right solution, America.

What about socialization of healthcare?

If you still have grandparents, they will become non cost effective.
It will not be profitable of our government programs to pay their MEDICAL BILLS and they will no get the care they need or deserve because they will no longer be paying back into the system. (not cost effective)
In other words, they will be sent home to DIE.
The America people need to wake up and see the way America is moving
The great American hero "Obama" is leading the charge...

You are correct, this is the way America is going. Give the OBAMA gang about a year and this type of system will be in place.
America needs to speak out now, stop this type of programs and the OBAMA way of life from getting started.

A guy approached me at work the other day, keep in mind that he was a very nice older gentleman, and he had been watching the news reports. He grins at me and says: "So, I worked my whole life to buy my house - now I get to buy yours too?" This is not about Change - that was the ice cream that alot of people wanted, without even knowing what it was about, how we would get it or who would clean up after. I see higher taxes. I see 'pork free' bail out deals filled with bacon bits. I see suggestions made to help buy people's houses. I see a fleet of helicopters that cost millions of dollars. I see money going to Gaza when our own economy is falling apart... Oh I might get a 10 dollar tax cut every check. Wow. Thanks for the help, or should i say, "change?" HOW does that help me? How does that help the USA? This is about the 'same old politics' This is about shoving one's way through the government system to get the control wanted. What happened to checks and balances? The democrats have control of all 3 branches now. Republicans just walk out of congress sessions? This, in my opinion, is what this is about. See the full version of this posting - In My Opinion: What its all About - on my CMS Blog: 04thirteen.livejournal.com/ Talk to you later everyone.

I heard on the news this morning that a long time Republican is switching to the Democratic party.
If this is the case, they were saying that this would give the Democrats the majority and President Obama would not have trouble getting new measures passed.
The first thing they think he should or would tackle is healthcare and making it more affordable. Does that mean socialization of medication?

From what I understand, he already plans a medical reform? Would this make us similar to Canada where medical treatment is free for all? Free for all is a good idea, yes. But imagine this, a few dozen people in a waiting room come to treat a bleeding nose - when someone you know is in there having a cardiac arrest or has broken bones - yet they have to wait on everyone else to be seen?
Or if you think you have a cancer, you have to schedule an appointment to be sure - the first available slot = six months from the time you call. Hmmm - what if you don't have that long?
Not the greatest of idea people.
Think about it.

Medical help for all is good, but we see your point. That cannot be beneficial either. We wonder if there is a middle ground? The cost of healthcare is getting higher and higher and more and more people are going on government programs to get basic free healthcare. Saw some statistic that we are up something like 11%. WOW.

The record shows that any thing the government runs is bound up in red tape and politics. If this national health care plan is going to be so great then I say that members of the house and senate should be required to take the public option like the rest of us...stand in lines, wait for tests. and be denied care because of the costs to the government. Look at the record of health care by the government in other countries like Canada and England what a nightmare for common everyday people. Many of whom die while waiting for their turn
