One of those age-old questions right? On the Seventh of March 2009 NASA launched a telescope into space to look for Earth Type Planets. Pretty Cool. Added it to the 2009 News Section too. By the way, no, I don't think we are alone out here.

Neither do we. The universe is far too large for only one planet of life. Look up in the sky at night, look for a cloudlike arm going across the sky, that is another arm of the milky way galaxy, the galaxy in which we live. Now think about this, we are just one tiny, tiny speck in an arm just like the one we see and that is just in OUR galaxy alone. Is it really possible to be so naive to think we could be it? We certainly hope not.

That is an old question, maybe one day will be answered. It seems unlikely that the planet Earth is all there is.
Watch Star Trek, it is an interesting idea...

Hey, I was thinking today about this.... if Planet X really is true and the world is coming to an end in 2012, then Gene Rodenberry either didn't do his homework or he didn't believe it.

There is far too much "space" out there for just us.

Yes and far too much we don't even know beyond our small section of it. It is hard to understand why some say they do not believe it life besides what exists on earth. We are not saying you should keep an eye out for "little green men" around every corner and visit Roswell in hopes of catching a glimpse, but to open your mind to the VASTNESS that truly surrounds us. We cannot be just IT.

The aliens saw the masses of people in Washington the day Obama became president.

I liked this topic. We should discuss this one some more. Anyone?

I vote no. Just watch science fiction movies. The idea is out there. I think more people believe there is then let on.

I saw another program on TV recently about this. Most people are starting to think perhaps we are not alone. It is an interesting idea, life besides us.
Science Fiction has always had its basis in the possibilities of what else could be and perhaps that is why so many of us like it, the possiblity of something else other than us.
Look at all the things that have come true over the decades. Computers? Communication devices that are NOT attached to a wall? Space travel? Perhaps aliens are not too fetched after all.

I liked this topic too. What are the chances of moving it to is own discussion form? Did you all see those Earth-Type planets they have been finding, or hear about the telescope they launched several months back?

Life on other planets is a cool idea but I dont think we are going to know about it for a while yet. It sure makes for some interesting movies though.

From space. That is comical.
However, speaking of space, scientists have discovered a planet far, far, far away. It made headlines along with the idea that maybe they are closer to proving whether or not there is life besides earth.
Millions and billions upon billions of stars, galaxies unheard of and space we cannot see or imagine and we have to ask, are we all there is?

Guess there is some planet far far far away on collison course with its sun. Going to take like a million years to collide but nonetheless it is out there. Couldn't see that before.

Very funny, you must think it is a joke. there are people who are dying everyday because they can't get the medical help that they need.

Back to the topic.... scientists have found a distant planet they think can support life.
We have made huge strides in what we know about the "final frontier."
I bet there is more out there than even science fiction writers can dream up.

Alot of science fiction from the past has become reality. There is so much out there we do not know, how can anyone say they know the answer to this topic for sure. I am staying open minded because..... I can.

I have no opinion on this subject. But, if you're going to make an assertation like that T2S, then you probably need to define "crazy". Not to mention that you probably need to back up your opinion with something a little more substantial. The folks here have thier opinions and have shared why they feel the way they do. Will you not do the same? Please, by all means, share with the rest of us why you think that.

Here is ours - the universe is far too vast and unknown for us to think so highly of ourselves.
