In the past five days alone CMS has received 5 new visitors to the website... the question now is - how to get them on the message board? Do they know where it is? How do we draw their attention to it? See ya all later. ;D

maybe feature one or two topics on the front page or highlight the section by itself

It has to be something attention grabbing, but not overwhelming. Too much clutter can cause confusion and make someone bypass the page.
There are LOTS of chat roooms and forums out there, you have to define what makes yours different and worth the time of the visitors.
Interactive pages are good as well as a common interest. People are searching for answers, give them a way to find them.

Another suggestion is under the website video, but I had another thought... don't get rid of the old posts, but condense them some. There are ALOT of them on the forum and can be a little overwhelming now. People might be wondering which one to click on until they get used to the site.
The site has come a long way and it takes time to attract people.
There are so many websites out there that are fighting for hits and attention grabbers and time are your best bet.

Every website was created for a reason and people are constantly searching for what meets their needs.

Maybe a topic of the day could be featured on the home page, with the replies posted.

That is an interesting idea.... or you could post a news story of the day and have it be the featured topic for the day.

All good ideas. Anyone else? Something eye catching that can maybe start automatically once the main page is activated to grab attention, but can easily be bypassed?
